ELY, ALLEN & BREWSTER (EAB)
THE COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY

Ely, Allen & Brewster (EAB) Houses
Ewing, NJ

EAB was built in the early 1930’s, and consists of three dormitory buildings connected on the lower level and first floor. The building has a brick exterior with double-hung windows, slate roofs with dormers, as well as areas of low-slope membrane roofs.

TBS Services, Inc. was engaged by the College to investigate the building envelope and water infiltration issues, determine the cause(s) of deficiencies, recommend solutions, and provided design, bidding and construction administration services for the water infiltration remediation at Ely, Allen and Brewster Houses. The scope of the project included replacement of the steep-slope shingle roof systems, replacement of the low-slope roof systems, new storm water collection systems (i.e. gutters and downspouts), and miscellaneous masonry wall repairs.
