Mr. Magrino is a registered architect in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, with over 25 years of experience within the architectural profession. His knowledge and experience base is uniquely suited for the analysis investigation and assessment of building envelope systems.
His experience in architectural technology has been tested and proven on a wide range of new and existing facilities. He has practical understanding of the technical and aesthetic challenges posed by building envelope systems for a wide range of building types.
Mr. Magrino is Past Chairman of the Philadelphia Building Enclosure Council, a network of affiliated architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers. The Councils provide a forum for the construction industry to address building enclosures—the exterior systems of buildings that play such a critical role in building performance and energy efficiency. BEC was established as an initiative of the Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council (BETEC) of the National Institute of Building Sciences and the American Institute of Architects.
Mr. Magrino is on the Board of Directors of the AIA Delaware and is the Chairman of the Partnering Committee Associated Builders and Contractors Delaware. Mr. Magrino has conducted educational seminars on the Building Envelope for a number of the clients of TBS Services as well as fifth year Bachelor of Architecture students at Philadelphia University, Philadelphia, PA
A Registered Architect with formal degrees in both Architecture and Civil Engineering, Joe brings a diverse and unique skill set to each project.
He has experience with a broad range of building enclosure components including the investigation, repair, design, and rehabilitation of projects ranging from below grade waterproofing systems to glazing systems and has an intimate understanding of the complexities of project development and building design, drawing on his prior years at architectural design firms. He has also been a Commissioning Team member for Building Envelope Commissioning as part of enhanced commissioning on new construction projects. He has experience with project types ranging from existing building renovations to the design and construction of new structures for governmental, educational, and commercial clients. In addition, he has been responsible for code analysis, programming, design, construction documentation, and construction administration for many of these projects.
Joe is currently Co-chair of the Philadelphia Chapter of the AIA's Building Enclosure Council and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional.
